Arellano, Levings take Flying Mule 5K

— The second annual Flying Mule 5K run involved 40 runners Saturday.

Frank Arellano, 42, won the overall men’s division with a clocking of 18:43 while Anjeannette Levings, 35, was the overall winner for the women with a 21.52 effort. In the elementary kids 1K Run, Wyatt Helton and Alayna Brown were the overall winners in the boys and girls races, respectively.

Weather was ideal for the race which wasrun at 7:30 a.m. down Weston Street, east on Slack Street/Lee Town, north on Davis then west through downtown Pea Ridge back to Weston where the runners finished.

Besides Helton and Brown, Ashley Dagestad,fifth grade; Zoe Jennings, fourth grade; Charlie Mosely, second grade; Ethan Hopper, second grade; and Chloe Jennings, kindergarten, were all divisional winners. Kamryn Mosely and Jimmy Flanagan were also gold medal winners in the 1K race (.6 of a mile).
