There are new faces at Collier Drug

— Brenna Neumann is the new pharmacist at Collier Drug in Pea Ridge. Neumann is a 1994 graduate of Bentonville High School and received her doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2001. She completed a one-year residency program with emphasis on community care at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.

She was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Missouri School of Phar macy and the CommunityResidency program director for three years.

Neumann has lived in Bella Vista for five years She hasextensive experience in advanced community practice and medication therapy manageme nt. Her doctorate degree allows her to check patients’ blood pressure and assist them with diabetes education, and she is a certified immunizer in Arkansas and Missouri.

Neumann said she is excited to be working back inher home state, coming to Pea Ridge from a previous position as a clinical coordi nator and site preceptor for advanced community pharmacy students and residents in southwest Missouri. All together, she said, the three new employees at Colliers, herself included, have a total of 49 years of pharmacy experience and she said this position is exactly what she has been looking for.

Peggy Stone is a pharmacy technician at Colliers. She brings 22 years of pharmacy experience to the store, having worked for Wal-Mart pharmacies and the pharmacy at Fred’sin Pea Ridge She worked with Neumann in the past at the Bentonville supercenter pharmacy.

Stone has lived in Pea Ridge for 23 years with her husband, Robert. They have two sons, Leslie, 32, and Brian, 21. Leslie is a doctorand Brian works as a security guard at Springdale Hospital. In their spare time, Stone said she and her husband like to “burn gas and spend money,” shopping for antiques at flea markets.

She began as a cashier and then was the over-the counter manager at Wal- Mart for three years. She moved behind the counter and later received her pharmacy technician license.

Carolyn Hooper, one of the two new pharmacy technicians at Colliers in Pea Ridge, was born and raised in south Arkansas.

She has lived in Bentonville for 13 years, where she previously worked as a pharmacy technician at USA Drug for 10 years. She started as a cashier there, moved into the pharmacy and has been content ever since. She heard of the opening at Colliers by word-of mouth, took the job after being interviewed and hasn’t looked back.

“It’s the best decision I’ve made in a long time,” she said about working for the company.

She and her husband, Jack, have one daughter, Jessica, 32, who lives in Dallas. Hooper loves to fish, ride bikes and canoe. She also spends her time sitting on her porch swing with a good book.
