Quilt winners named

— Over 100 antique and contemporary quilts were entered in the Ozark Quilt Fair at the Shiloh Museum Saturday, Sept. 11. Visitors to the quilt fair voted on their choices of the best antique and contemporary quilts exhibited.

The winner in the contemporary category was a “State Birds” quilt by Fern Robbins of Springdale. Ruth Beard of Spring dale won second with her “Shades of Baltimore” quilt. Third place was awarded to a “Cabin in the Corner” quilt by Marilyn Meek of Springdale.

In the antique category,

a “Grandmother’s FlowerGarden” quilt owned by Linda Hicklin of Springdale won first place. Second place went to an “1892 Pine Bur” quilt owned by Edna Mae Barker of Springdale.

Bonnie Steffes of West Fork won third place with a “Flower Bouquet” appliqué quilt.

The 33rd Ozark Quilt Fair was sponsored by First Security Bank, Arvest Bank and Legacy National Bank.
