In His Study | Which path to choose?

“Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life and honor.” Proverbs 21:21 NRSV “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid.

What can man do to me?” 1Psalms 56:11

Our nation is in trouble.

Why? Because those who want everyone to believe there is no God are trying to erase God from history and from the hearts of those who have gone before us in history. They do this by making statements that are lies, but lies so persuasive as to convince those - who will not check for truth - that the lie is the truth. One lie is that our founding presidents were not Christians at all. But note the following quote (the quote inside the larger quote was written by General George Washington):

“By 1778, George Washington had so often witnessed God’s intervention that on Aug. 20, he wrote Thomas Nelson that: “The hand of Providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations.’” (George Washington, “The Writings of George Washington,” Jared Sparks, editor (Boston: Ferdinand Andrews, publisher, 1838), Vol. XII, pp. 399-411.)

George Washington here said that for a person to not acknowledge the clear hand of God in the creation of our country and through the war effort is to make that person more wicked than an infidel. Strong words! You can see why the wicked of our day are trying so hard to rewritehistory and to erase any reference to God from the face of America.

The problem is that most Christians are so passive about their relationship to Christ and Father God that they will, by their refusal to resist this godless action, allow God to be removed from America’s shores.

Every Christian life comes to a point of commitment - either they stand and fight no matter the cost, or they surrender cowardly to the enemy and live an Old Testament Lot-kind-of life or die (multiple ways that can occur - all in misery). Lot had lived in the godless society for so long that his whole family had been poisoned by it. He lost two daughters in the city, he lost his wife outside the city and his remaining two daughters proved the poisoning complete just days later. Lot lost it all.

And it was too late to take a stand when the angels showed up on his doorstep.

He needed to have taken a stand years before when there was opportunity to have influenced his neighbors. The point for each of us is: Which path will we choose?
