’Til Next Time Thankful for the small blessings

— Any time I have to do something new or different, I spend a lot of time dreading it. The overnight stay at the apnea sleep center wasn’t at all like I had expected and dreaded.

It took 30 days to get the appointment and 14 before I got the results. I was treated with courtesy and gentleness like a “queen for a day.” I would go back once a week if Medicare would stand for it. The employee there told me that they accommodate six people a night and that makes 30 people a week going through there. I couldn’tbelieve there are that many sleep disorders, but believe most of them have to do with snoring.

I’m think that I have a lot to be thankful for as I prepare a holiday meal.

Self-cleaning ovens, microwaves, non-stick pans, throw away roasters, timers, mixers, paper plates and quart-size tea bags are just a few. And, a daughterwho takes full responsibility for the turkey and a daughter-in-law for some side dishes.

Ruth Talbert, Jane Wilma Hensley, James and Wilma Mayfield were just a few people who I enjoyed eating with at the Brightwater Community Thanksgiving dinner. The count was 75 to 80 people. Ruth is 87 years young, drives her own car and knows everybody!

Have you ever thought, “Boy, I wish I hadn’t said that?” An older Farmer’s Almanac says there isn’t a person anywhere on earth who hasn’t wished thatthey hadn’t said something, done something or thought something that they regretted. I’m sure glad to know that I’m normal.

The report is that Leo Lynch is recuperating nicely and Jerry Nichols is still in the hospital. We wish for every one to be home with the family for Thanksgiving.
