PEA RIDGE — Christmas Parade

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The Seligman Christmas parade will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. Line up begins at 1 p.m., first come, first served. Horses will be at the end of the parade and nothing loud may be near the band. Judging numbers will be passed out before entries reach the judging stand. No Santas please.

The parade will begin at the north end of town at the corner of Missouri Hwy. 37 and Business 37 and travel south to the community center, corner of South Main Street and Hurd Street.

Cash prizes will beawarded in each three categories - religious floats, non-religious and marching units for $75, first; $50, second and $25, third; and $40 for best animal unit, best antique vehicle, best non-antique vehicle and best motorcycle of off-road vehicle (which includes tractors, four-wheelers, carts and bicycles).

Following the parade, Santa Claus will be at the community center to greet children and hand out treats. there will be refreshments. Cash prizes will be awarded to parade winners as soon as points are tallied.

Christmas Lighting Contest

SELIGMAN, Mo. - A Christmas Lighting contest is being sponsored by the Seligman Parks Commission with prizes sponsored by Seligman Super Stop.

First-place prize is $150, second-place is $75 and third-place is $50.

To enter, register before Dec. 2 at City Hall. Judging will occur on the nights of Dec. 3-5. Winners will be announced at the Community Center after the Seligman Christmas Parade.

Community dance set

SELIGMAN, Mo.

- The Seligman community dance will be at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Seligman community center. The band will be Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs. Entrance is $4 for adults. Snacks are optional.

Train ride slated

SELIGMAN, Mo.

- The Christmas train ride to Rogers, Ark., and back will be at 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 12. Come and enjoy this short trip with Arkansas and Missouri train all decorated for Christmas and with Santa Claus. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 4 to 12 years of age and free for children 3 and under.
