Dream home personally designed for family use

When asked if shoes should be removed when entering the home of Clark Tyndall and his wife, Pam Tyndall just laughed.

“We have 16 grandkids between the two of us,” he said, “We built this house with the idea of having family and friends over.”

Tyndall’s home is one of five on this year’s Pea Ridge Historical Society’s Tour of Homes.

A walk through the front door leads through an arched entry into a large great room with high ceilings, perfect for accommodating large gatherings. The floor plan moves through to an openkitchen with abundant natural light pouring through windows.

Tyndall pointed to a house across the way and said they used to live there. They sold those 12 acres, kept three and built their dream home four and one half years ago. The home has four bedrooms and four baths, plus two half-baths. It is 4,400 heated square feet.

“We designed everything, I drew it on a legal pad,” Tyndall said.

Tyndall works from home and has a secluded office in the back corner.

The biggest attraction, he said, is the bonus room on the third level.

“We didn’t plan on a third level until the house was framed,” he said. “There was so much space up there.”

The large room features an air hockey table, large flat screen television, comfortable couches and theater-style chairs in a row.

He said the location of the room, with so much empty space on either side, makes it quiet.

“It’s perfect for football games and golf on Sunday afternoon,” he said.

The finished basement is the “Razorback room,” full of Arkansas Razorback decor. It boasts a living area, guest room, kitchenand pool table. This room doesn’t get as much attention or use as the upstairs and the big flat screen though, he said.

Also downstairs is a concrete safe room, which Tyndall said the family and neighbors have had to use twice. The tornado two years ago came across the corner of the yard and ripped up a tree 15 feet off the porch. Fortunately, they did not suffer structure damage, but were thankful to have a safe place to go.

Off the back of the house, an expansive covered deck adds to the home’s enticing entertaining features. Tyn- The Pea dall said by by the Pea noon or a p.m. Sunday little later, Homes the sun has◊Braxton moved high◊Clark and enough so◊Jack Gary and andthe deck◊Flea is shaded, Ave.
