My heart is pounding like a raging river

As we pull up to thehaunted house

My shoes crunch on the ground as I cautiously walk toward the entrance.

As I enter through the dark doorway

I wait blindly for my eyes to adjust

Not knowing what lies ahead

I enter the dimly lit chamber

Hearing the eeriehowls and screams

My feet are boulders

Then out of the darkness, it’s there

A ghastly ghoul

My best friend performing his part-time job.
