— GARFIELD - I interviewed our school secretary, Mrs. Michelle Jones, this week.

Mrs. Jones has been married for 12 years. Her husband’s name is Rashidi. She has three children: Chloe, 9, 3rd grade;

Eli, 7, 2nd grade (both students at Garfield Elementary); and Jonah, 5, pre-kindergarten atRogers.

Mrs. Jones has worked for Wal-Mart, Henderson Engineers and also was a stay-athome mom.

This herfirst year as Garfield’s school secretary.

She enjoys working at Garfield. Her children love that she works at their school.

Mrs. Jones says that she wouldn’t change a thing about our school. She thinks it’s great! We think that she is doing a great job!

Fall Carnival a Huge Success!

A special thanks goes to all the people who came to our Fall Carnival at Garfield Elementary on Oct. 23. Also, a great thanks goes to the Garfield PTO for all of their hard work in the planning and preparing for the carnival. We had lots of fun games like the cake walk, country store, BINGO, pumpkin painting and many more. The food was awesome.

We had pulled pork, popcorn, frito pie, chili dogs and some other delicious fall foods.

My favorite game at the carnival was the Balloon Pop!

I wonder what game everyone else liked the best! And, of course, the cotton candy was the chosen food by many sweet-toothed kids!

Parent Teacher Conferences were last week.

Join us for our Awards Assembly at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov.

5, in the Garfield Elementary Gym.
