Out of My Mind Expressions of gratitude are blessings

So few people take time to say thank you.

People complain all the time - about the weather, the traffic, the news. But do they take the time to thank someone when things go well?

It’s almost as though we expect everything to go well and take it for granted.

Years ago, one of my daughters, who’s rather gregarious and vocal, was very ill. She was 3 years old and what began as amild cold quickly turned sour. A very high temperature soared, she was lethargic and hospitalized for pneumonia. While praying for her, watching the hospital respiratory therapist pound on her back, I remember thinkingthat if she recovered, I’d not complain about her constant talking anymore. Unfortunately, I’ve not kept that resolution. But, I’m grateful for her good health today and her outgoing spirit.

During baccalaureate and graduation, several young people expressed thanks to their teachers, their parents and others who made a difference in their lives.

Even though we may be oblivious to it, none of uslives in isolation. We have others to thank for the benefits in our lives.

Look for opportunities to bless someone today by telling them thank you for what they’ve done for you.◊◊◊
