Variance gets OK

— In a four-minute meeting of the Pea Ridge Planning Commission Tuesday, May 4, the group approved the minutes for the April meeting and the one item on the agenda and adjourned.

A variance request by Pea Ridge resident Charley Clark for a rear set back at his residence on Baker Street was approved.

Clark’s wife, Heather, is a new member of the Planning Commission. She moved to the audience during the meeting, and acted as the representative for the request and did not vote on it.

The Clarks requested a set back of 12 feet originally, but after review by Tony Townsend, city building official, changed the number to 10 feet to avoid the easement outside their property.

The commission voted in favor of the request almost unanimously, with the exception of Clark who abstained.

The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at City Hall.
