Celebrating 70 years

Customers, friends and family are invited to stop by Webb’s Feed and Seed from 1-4 p.m. Friday, May 7, to celebrate 70 years in the business for Fred McKinney. McKinney joined the company on April 20, 1940.

Webb Feed was begun by McKinney’s father-in-law Hugh Webb.

Quilt show

The second quilt show of the Pea Ridge First Baptist Church Quilt Club will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, May 8, at the church. Admission is free.

New and antique quilts will be on display.

Anyone wishing to have a quilt in the show must have it to the church by noonFriday, May 7. For more information, call Amy Mc-Inturf at 451-1937.

NEBCO to hold fundraiser

The Northeast Benton County Volunteer Fire Department will host its first “Chicken-in-a-Bag” fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8.

Chicken will be bagged and ready for takeout for just $5. It’s Hot! It’s Quick!

It’s Easy! To pick-up a “Chicken-in-a-Bag” takeout, drive through the NEBCO Community Center parking lot at 17823 Marshall St.

(U.S. Hwy. 62) in Garfield.

All proceeds go to the building fund for the new NEBCO VFD Fire Station No. 2 on Posy Mountain.

Farmers’ Market

The Pea Ridge farmers’ market will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursdays starting May 6 at the Emergency Building entrance off Slack Street. For more information, call Nadine Telgemeier at 451-8881.

Avoca Clean up

The town of Avoca will hold a spring cleanup Saturday, May 15. Come for coffee, juice and donuts at 8:30 a.m., then split intoteams to pick up trash along town streets from 9 to 11 a.m. There will be a $50 cash drawing at 11 a.m.

Must be present for still working to win.

Blood Drive planned

The PRHS chapter of the National Honor Society and The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Monday, May 17, in the high school gym lobby. Everyone in the community is encouraged to participate.

Car wash fundraiser for cancer

Relay for Life Team Remembrance will hold a car wash beginning at 12:30p.m. until the sun goes down Saturday, May 8, at Arvest Bank in Pea Ridge.

Proceeds will go to raise money for the relay in August. Relay for Life raises money to support cancer research. For more information, call Kim Musico at 381-5778.
