ROGERS — Derrick Garcia, 18, of Rogers, earned his Eagle Scout at a ceremony Saturday, April 17, in Rogers.
Garcia is a member of Rogers Troop 49 and the assistant Cub Master of Pack 911 inPea Ridge.
His final project to finish his Eagle Scout was cleaning up the Beaver Dam trail, including moving dead leaves, trimming limbs damaged in last year’s ice storm and cutting trees. Garcia gave his mentor pin to Kevin Oxford of Garfield.
Garcia will graduatefrom Rogers High School this year. He plans to go to Northwest Arkansas Community College to become a paramedic.
He is the son of Rosa and Pedro Garcia of Rogers and grandson of Harrison Jr. and Lillie Pratt of Cassville, Mo.; and brother of Glorie and her husband, John, of Pea Ridge.
