— Athletic facilities were reviewed in a special meeting Wednesday, March 17, by Pea Ridge School Board members, superintendent Mike Van Dyke and school officials along with architect Steve Elliot. They discussed plans for new athletic facilities on the high school campus.

Head football coach Tony Travis presented plans of what he envisions the facility to look like and what functions it will serve, such as an indoor practice area, locker rooms, weight room, classrooms and offices.

Elliot agreed to construct drawings based on information provided by Travis and the committee overseeing the project.

“We’re a long way from bids,” Van Dyke said. “We will continue to meet as a committee, look at cost estimates and meet with the board.”

The next regular meeting of the Pea Ridge School Board is set for 6 p.m. Monday, April 12, in the high school media center.
