— What is your job title? Middle school physical education and head senior girls basketball, softball and volleyball coach.

What sports is the most difficult when it comes to coaching?

This year it was volleyball, it was new for me and new for the girls.

The girls are picking up the game a little better now.

Where are you originally from? Pea Ridge.

Did you play sports in high school and/or college? Both. In high school, I played basketball, softball and rantrack. In college, I played basketball.

Where did you go to college? Crowder College and then College of the Ozarks.

What is your degree in? Physical education, secondary education and I also have health.

What was your first job out of college? In Buffalo, Mo., teaching K-4 and the assistant basketball, softball and track coach.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher and a coach - since eighth grade, I always likedsports and working with kids.

How long have you been teaching in Pea Ridge? Four years.

What’s your favorite thing about being a teacher at Pea Ridge? The kids and the smaller school system.

What is one of the most memorable moments from coaching here? When we beat Huntsville in the Regional (basketball) tournament last year.

What do you think is the most important thing to teach kids this age? Respect and life skills when they get out of school.
