BBQ dinner and pie auction

The Pea Ridge High School Alumni Association will hold a BBQ Dinner and Pie Auction fund-raiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Pea Ridge Middle School cafeteria.

The menu will feature BBQ sandwiches, baked beans and other fixins. The Pie Auction will begin at 6 p.m.

Proceeds of the fundraiser will benefit the Alumni Scholarship Fund, which provides first-year college scholarships to graduating seniors from Pea Ridge High School.

The 2009 recipients were Evelyn Torres, Brittany Morgan and Natalie Morgan.

Pea Ridge High School Alumni Association is now officially a non-profit organization under the IRS Code, Section 501(c)(3), so gifts made to the Alumni Association are now taxdeductible charitable donations.

Looking ahead to summer, Alumni Day 2010, sponsored by the Alumni Association, is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the high school.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors includes John Lasater, president; Ken Howell, vice-president; Jamie Cotton, secretary; Nancy Jordan, treasurer; Jerry Nichols, communications coordinator; Marcia Cothran, Charles Crabtree, Tim Woods and Andrea Ricketts. Monthly meetings of the board are held at 6 p.m. on second Tuesday evenings in the front conference room of the Arvest Bank of Pea Ridge.

All alumni and visitors are welcome to attend.

Regional Chamber Business Expo

The Regional Chamber of Commerce serving Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri is sponsoring their fourth annual Business Expo 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Pea Ridge High School.

Along with the interactive vendor booths, there will be a health and safety theme. The American Red Cross will be hold a blood drive on the premises. The Expo offers reasonable rates for all businesses and a reduced rate for nonprofit groups.
