— Dr. Seuss is one of the most famous children’s authors. He always focused on making reading fun for children. So on Friday March 5, Pea Ridge Primary students celebrated his birthday and the fun in reading.

It was a fun-filled day with the students dressed up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character, including principal Keith Martin as Cat in the Hat.

Children also enjoyed a drama presentation done by the high school drama students. They were able to hear community readers come in and read their favorite books and talk to the students about their love of reading.

The highlight of the day for the students was when they were able to pour OobleckSlime all over their principle Martin. The students won this chance because of the school sold over 1,000 books at the recent book fair.

All in all it was a fun day where the students celebrated the love of reading and how much fun it can be.
