Dear Editor:

It is that time of year again, our Pea Ridge Scholarship Association is busy with applications and contributions form.

Over the last few years we have watched as the graduating classes continue to grow each year. We have also watched as many students choose to continue their education and the best part of all, these same students are coming backinto our community as leaders, educators, military officers, doctors and in many other professions.

Over the past several years, thousands of dollars have been awarded to students to help with their freshman year at colleges and universities. Last year we awarded $10,000 in scholarships to 14 students. Similar amounts have been awarded for previous years. Our scholarship association relies on contributions frombusinesses, churches, organizations and individuals each year.

Some of you will receive a contribution form in the mail. Please do not discard the form. We are not asking for large donations. If you can give $10, $20 or $25 that would be great.

You can mail the contribution to us or drop them by Arvest Bank in Pea Ridge.

If you have been a past recipient of this scholarship, if you graduated from PRHS, if you wantto help our young adults further their education or maybe you have children or grandchildren who will one day need some help, please consider making a small contribution this year.
