Democratic Women’s

The Benton County Democratic Women’s Club will hold its monthly meeting at 11:30a.m. Monday, March 22, at the Clarion Inn of Bentonville. The speaker will be Darrel Henschell;

his topic is A Comparison ofCanadian and U.S. Healthcare.

He will discuss the various components of both national health care systems including cost, deliverability, access, outcomes, efficiencies, etc.

Henschell, a Canadian, moved to the United States 23 years ago. His familiarity with the Canadian health care system has been kept current through feedback from numerous friends and relatives over years. With the debate over health care reform in the U.S., Henschell conducted a semi-informal survey last summer while visiting thereand will share these results during his speech.

Henschell started Henschell’s Piano Service in 1990.

He gives presentations on many subjects, and has appeared on Fayetteville’s public access television and been a guest on NPR’s local station, KUAF. To make reservations for the buffet lunch ($12) call 876-2178 or by e-mail at [email protected]. The public is invited to attend.

Lions Club to form

An organizational meeting for a Lions Club in Pea Ridge is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at the Media Center in the Pea Ridge High School. At that meeting local members will elect officers to guide the club’s operation for the coming year.

In order to charter a new club, a minimum of 20 individuals need to sign up as members. The club has met that minimum but seeks any service oriented individual to join.
