Bernard Dart

Bernard Gordon Dart, 81, of Cassville, Mo., died Friday, June 25, 2010, inRegency Hospital, Springdale, Ark. He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Garfield, Ark., toLonnie and Margaret (O’Neill) Dart.

He married Billie Anderson on Aug. 5, 1956.

Mr. Dart grew up and received his education at Garfield, graduating as class president in 1947.

During the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army.

For a few years he was a barber and then worked 18 years for St. Mary Rogers Memorial Hospital. Most of his life was spent farming, raising cattle.

He was a member of Washburn United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee. Since about 1991, he served on the South Barry County, Mo., Ambulance Board.

He loved playing music and groups played at their home every other Saturday.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Dart of the home; three daughters,Kathy Weathers and her husband, Johnnie, of Washburn, Mo., Linda McBride and her husband, Jerry, of Cassville, Mo., and Janet Ballard and her husband, Roger, of Cassville; two brothers, L.J.

Dart of Gateway, Ark., and Gaylord Dart of Garfield, Ark.; one sister, Becky Wilkerson of Pea Ridge, Ark.; six grandsons; and six great-grandsons.

Visitation was from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville with the Rev. Russell Bishop and the Rev. Anne Saegesser conducting the services.

Burial was in Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.
