— Have you ever had to dig around in a nasty leaking trash can for a lost item?

Of the five women I asked this question, none of them readily admitted it until I confessed that I had done that yesterday. Then they all revealed that “yes,” they had and some more than once.

The other grandma from Nebraska is coming. I like her so well and for some wild reason I decided to do a deep house cleaning. It has been three months since spring cleaning and everything needed a good touching up!

Maybe she couldn’t think her grandsons had to visit and play in my dirty house.

Sometimes it is and I have even found grandsons standing at my sink doing my dirtydishes. As I was on this great housecleaning mission, I picked up two handfuls of papers. I put one in the trash can, the other in a drawer for safe keeping. Later, 48 hours later, I pulled out a drawer and wondered why papers were there and a slow weakening of the knees told me what I was going to have to do next.

We do what we have to and I did it! So much for foolish pride and house cleaning for showing off! I’m looking forward to seeing her and thetwo boys are really up about her coming.

After both boys played tournament ball games this weekend in the heat, I knew neither of them would want to drag out to see fireworks.

The ballgames did me in, too, so we didn’t make it to the Freedom Fest.

Dottie Bledsoe thinks she might get to come home this week. Jake and Rheta Van Dorn picked her up from the nursing home and brought her Sunday to hear Matt’s last sermon to us. And the point I picked out of his sermon was “love everything and follow Him, so go out in this world to look around to see what needs done and then do it!”

Betty Weston told us how much she enjoyed the Garfield School reunion. Gwendolyn Daniels enjoyed a girl scout camp and the Daniels’ friends come this week to help with the move. We will meet early next week to meet and greet our new pastor.

Jeanie Bowen is getting to do a life long dream when she goes to Hawaii. I didn’t get a chance to ask her what island but will be anxious to hear about it.

We have so many on our prayer list but Jay and Sue Lynch come to mind and Henry Schroeder.
