Youth Football sign ups

— Football is back. Sign ups for youth football for anyone going into second through sixth grade will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 28-29, at the pavilion at City Park, Haydon Road.

The second- and thirdgrade league will consist of four teams with 15 players per team. All games will be inner city play in a 7 on 7 format. This is full pad tackle game not flag. The teams will play five games and a jamboree. The first 60 players to sign up will try out and be drafted, the remaining will be on a waiting list.

The registration fees for second- and third-grades is $40 dollars. Registration forfourth- through sixth-grades is $50 dollars. The league provides helmet, shoulder pads and supplementary insurance.

All players also get a Blackhawk jersey that they will keep at the end of season.

Anyone interested in coaching or helping coach must fill out an application at sign ups.

The fourth- and fifthgrades both won the conference championship last year and set a record for youth football wins in Pea Ridge dating back to 1993 when the league was started. It should be an exciting year with everyone shooting for us, its pretty cool to be the team to be beat, but also on the otherhand you have to bring your a game every game because you know everybody is coming after ya with their best effort, said Dickie Winn, league representative.
