Guy Junior Brown

Guy Junior Brown, 70, of Rogers, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at his home.

He was born June 24, 1939, in Rogers, to Christopher Columbus Brown and Nancy Ellen Swadley Brown. He was raised by Carl and Vergie Guyll McKenzie.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from PLP in Rogers. Mr.

Brown enjoyed hunting, fishing and, especially, spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of God’s Lighthouse Church in Bentonville.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Delores Cotton Brown; one son, Lloyd Brown of Rogers;

one daughter, Monica Faye Nyberg of Florida; one brother, Walter Brown of Seligman, Mo.; one sister, Alberta Cannady of Seligman; eight grandchildren, Tanna, Terissa Jo, Roger, Rashele, River, Riya, Rylee and Renna; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at Rollins Funeral Home.

A funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Rollins Funeral Home, with pastor Leroy Morton officiating.

Burial followed at Rogers City Cemetery.

Freida Lorene Chaffee

Freida Lorene Chaffee, 89, of Rogers, died June 8,2010, at her home. She was born March 17, 1921, at Corum, Okla., to B.C.

and Lexey (Brooks) Tucker.

Mrs. Chaffee was an avid quilter and worked at Patchwork Emporium in Rogers. She also worked for the Rogers Public Library for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking and loved to laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Chaffee; and a son, Richard Brice Chaffee.

Survivors include her children, Tuck Chaffee and wife, Nancy Jo, of Rogers, George Chaffee of Rogers and Paul Chaffee and wife, Sandy, of Pea Ridge; sisters, Mary Wakeman, of Gainesville, Fla., and Fern Patrick of Clinton, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 11, in the chapel of Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Rogers, officiated by the Rev. Kenneth Lee Hoyt.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Rogers Public Library, 711 S. Dixieland Rd., Rogers AR 72758.

George William Dover

George William Dover, 86, of Rogers, died June 8, 2010. He was born July2, 1923, in Chester, Ark., to Eugene and Ester (Seratt) Dover.

He resided in Benton County all of hisadult life, most recently at Heritage Park Nursing Center in Rogers. He worked in the poultry business for over 20 years and later went into construction and self employment. He was a caregiver and Mr. Fixit his entire life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leroy and Earl Dover; one son, Lloyd Dover; his first wife and mother of his children, Hazel Padgett; and his second wife, Blanche Dover.

Survivors include three children, Dale Dover and his wife, Lynn, of Joshua, Texas, Glenda Hyman and Carol Easley, both of Pea Ridge; two brothers, Virl Dover of California and Clifford Dover of Pea Ridge; six sisters, Edna Brown of California, Mary Boles of California, Virginia Lamproe of Oklahoma, Wanda Young of Kansas, Catherine Johnson of Garfield and Erma Brewer of Bentonville; five grandsons, Bill Dover of Bentonville, Jim Dover of Bella Vista, Ronnie Hyman of Bella Vista, Michael Hyman of Rogers and Colin Dover of Neosho; three granddaughters, Terry Dover and Erin Dover, both of Neosho, Mo., and Heather Gregory of Rogers; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m.

Friday, June 11, at Rollins Funeral Home.

A funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Rollins Funeral Home with pastor Rick Booyer officiating.

Interment followed at Rogers City Cemetery.

The family expressed gratitude to Circle of Life Hospice and especially nurse Katherine.

Scott Douglas Green

Scott Douglas Green, 48, of Pineville, died June 12, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born March 12, 1962, in La Mesa, Calif.

He was a truck driver for J.B. Hunt and most recentlyworked for Bekaert.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; his mother, Alice Green of Centerton;

two sisters, Karen Hudson and Debbie Coberly, both of Lowell; and a brother, Mark Green of Avoca.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Brian M. Smith

Brian M. Smith, 35, of Garfield, died June 10, 2010.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers, with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.

Paul Lee Wanken

Paul Lee Wanken, 65, of Pea Ridge, died Wednesday, June 9, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

He was born April 7, 1945, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Edwin Gearhart Wankenand Evon Marie Wergeland Wanken.

He was a grain farmer in Iowa for many years before moving to this area in 1984 to make his home. He was employed at Bekaert Steel and was a Lutheran. He enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, NASCAR, watching the birds, his grandchildren andhis dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Dean Wanken.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Wanken of the home; two daughters, Julia Gillen and her husband, Dan, and Paula Marie Wanken, all of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, George Patton and his wife, Kelly, of Pea Ridge, and Zack Patton of Avoca, Ark.; two brothers, Jody Wanken and his wife, Laura, of Eldora, Iowa, and Mark Wanken and his wife, Cindy, of Norwalk, Iowa;

three step-brothers, Richard Baessler of Oregon, Thomas Baessler and Michael Baessler and his wife, Chris, all of Eagle Grove, Iowa;

two step-sisters, Penelope Palmer and husband Randy, of Renwick, Iowa, and Kristine Palmer and husband Rick of Luck, Wisconsin;

and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m.

Friday, June 11, at the funeral home.

Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with pastor Neil Vanderbush officiating.

Burial was at Twelve Corners Cemetery north of Pea Ridge.
