— Softball tourney

A softball tournament will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Dock Wheeler Park in Rogers. This is a fundraiser event to benefit Pea Ridge resident Kyler Kasper, who suffers from Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA).

Team entry fee is $150, all money goes to The Kyler Kasper Foundation.

Deadline for entry and entry fees is Sunday, June 13.

There will be both men’s and coed brackets, depending on demand. Volunteers are also needed to help with the event.

Kyler Kasper is 3 years old and completely dependent on blood transfusions for survival. If he goes too long with out a blood transfusion or if there were no blood to give him he would die.

Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA) is a blood condition, present at birth, which is characterized by a failure of the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. This disease occurs in approximately one in 10,000 children. Many complications can occur in young adults and may result in death by the end of the second decade of life.

There is an account setup at Arvest bank in the name of Kyler Kasper for people that would like to donate money at any Arvest.

To register your team or volunteer, call Jessica at 640-4233 or e-mail thekylerkasperfoundation@ yahoo.com.
