Guy Richard Biddinger

Guy Richard Biddinger, 90, of Rogers died Wednesday, July 21, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born Aug.

10, 1919, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Ernest and Juanita (Reade) Biddinger.

Biddinger served in the Army during World War II, serving in Italy, France and Germany. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Guy Biddinger; and two brothers, Hugh and Paul Biddinger.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, of the home;

one son, John Biddinger of Rogers; one daughter, Judy Ranalli and her husband, Norbert, of Tontitown; one brother, Lyle Biddinger and his wife, Betty, of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Christie Zulpo, Nathan Ranalli, Megan Merrick, Jeremy Metcalf, Sara Woodie, Savanna Spilman, Ben Biddinger and Haily Biddinger; and nine greatgrandchildren.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.

Memorials can be made in Biddinger’s name to Circle of Life Hospice House, Peace Lutheran Church Food Pantry or the Rogers Adult Wellness Center.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Gordon Leon Browning

Gordon Leon Browning, 73, of Pea Ridge, died Friday, July 23, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born July 31, 1936, at Seligman, Mo., to Chester and Bea Browning.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he was a flight engineer during the Viet Nam War. He was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action and seven Air Medals. He enjoyed country western music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ron Browning of Seligman.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Thomas Browning, of the home; one son, Darren Browning and his wife, Teresa, of Plano, Texas; two grandsons, Greg and Sean Browning of Plano, Texas; and one sister, Mary Lou Ragland of Shell Knob, Mo.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Pea Ridge Cemetery with pastor Rick Booyer officiating.

Military honors were by Rogers VFW Post No. 3031.

Ray Burkett

Ray Burkett, 66, of Seligman, Mo., died Thursday, July 22, at Mercy MedicalCenter in Rogers. He was born Sept. 22, 1943, in Paragould, Ark., to Alvin Burkett and Edith Smith Burkett.

He was a foreman for Emerson Electric, retiring after 31 years. He enjoyed traveling with and watching the Southwest Trojan basketball team, going to the Branson Shoot-out, playing bingo and fishing.

He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Burkett; his parents; one son, Lonnie Burkett; and one brother, Roger Burkett.

Survivors include one son, Brett Burkett of Seligman; two daughters, Cindy Wright and her husband, Jimmy, and Kim Burkett, all of Seligman; 11 brothers, Jim Burkett of Powell, Mo., W.C. Burkett of Illinois, Eugene Burkett of Kansas City, Mo., John Burkett and Garry Burkett, both of Pea Ridge, Steve Burkett of Garfield, Gayland Burkett of Monett, Mo., Tim Burkett, Bruce Burkett and David Burkett, all of Seligman, Robert Burkett of Anderson, Mo.; one sister, Onida Club of Seligman; and two grandchildren, Miranda and Landon.

Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at the funeral home.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge, with the Rev.

Ron Shults officiating.

Burial was at Ruddick Cemetery.

Thelma Irene Pickering

Thelma Irene Pickering, 94, of Garfield, died Saturday, July 24, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers.

She was born June 12, 1916, at McDonald Co., Mo., to Charley Henry Arnold and Eva Jane Rector Arnold.

She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., Uniroyal in California and Sterling Faucet Co. in Sheridan. She moved to Pea Ridge in 1984 to make her home and enjoyed cooking, quilting, embroidery, gardening and fishing. She sang with her husband and son in a gospel quartet for several years traveling throughout the western part of the U.S. She attended Friends Church in California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herman Henry Arnold; two sisters, Dortha Evelyn Morgan and JewellMarie Patton.

Survivors include one son, Loren Dale Pickering of Oregon.

A graveside service is set for 4 p.m. Friday, July 30, at Antioch Cemetery with Pastor Rick Booyer officiating.

Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Peggy Jean Beasley Quarles

Peggy Jean Beasley Quarles, 48, of Pea Ridge, died July 24, 2010, in Pea Ridge.

She was born Nov. 14, 1961, in Anaheim, Calif., to Sidney Eugene and Letha Caton Beasley.

She had worked in the field of optometry and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, listening to music and playing with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie White, in 2002.

Survivors include by her husband, Jerry Quarles, of the home; her parents, Eugene and Letha Beasley of Springdale; three sons, Jeremy Quarles and his wife, Kelly, of Bella Vista, Justin Quarles of California and Michael Eric Quarles of Texas; one daughter, Danita Vaughan and her husband, Jeff, of Bentonville; one brother, Johnny E. Beasley of Siloam Springs; three sisters, Jody Burleson of Everett, Wash., Jackie Vancleave of Lowell and Donna Bryant of Truman, Ark.;

and three grandchildren, Michael Vaughan, David Vaughan and MichelleQuarles.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Jewell officiating.

Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Peggy Williams

Peggy Williams, 73, of Rogers, formerly of Anderson, Mo., died Monday, July 19, at her home in Rogers.

She was born in Sylva, N.C., on Feb. 13, 1937, to Ode and Bonnie (Mills) Cope.

She was a member of the Auxiliary Fleet Reserve Association and enjoyed playing bingo, taking care of her flowers, gardening, feeding hummingbirds, watching deer and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her domestic partner, John Eastin, of the home in Rogers; four sons, Donald Cope of Sylva, Mitch Alexander of Garfield, David Alexander and his wife, Marnee, of Rogers, and James Hilger Jr. of Arkansas; three brothers, Jack Cope and his wife, Pauline, James R. Cope and Dan Cope and his wife, Suzie, all of North Carolina; five sisters, Irene Mills, Mary Ida and Dorothy Freeman all of North Carolina, Sue Felkins of Missouri and Joyce Plemmons of Tennessee;

three grandchildren, Jeremy, Johnathan and Christopher; three great-grandchildren, Mya, Kenna and Kyra; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.

Services were at 2 p.m.

Thursday, July 22, at the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel (3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, AR 72758) with chaplain Audie Long officiating.

Interment followed at Benton County Memorial Park.
