Optimist Club meeting

The Pea Ridge Optimist Club will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Pea Ridge Middle School cafeteria. The meeting is open to the public and will feature a slide show from Pea Ridge High School AP Biology teacher Tim Pate of the AP students’ trip to South Dakota. Pea Ridge art teacher John McGee will also show off the winning art from the Mule Jump art contest, sponsored by the Optimist Club.

Benefit slated

A benefit for Conrad Dove, diagnosed with incurable cancer, will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Across the Creek in Garfield. There will befood, an auction, a bake sale and live music, bring your own lawn chairs.

Free back-to-school haircuts

Serendipity Salon in Garfield will offer free backto-school haircuts for students kindergarten through 12th grade from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, on a first come, first served basis. For more information, call Sherri Dean at the salon at 359-2887.

Ridge Rockers open house

The Pea Ridge Ridge Rockers will have an open house at 7 p.m. Tuesday,Sept. 14, at the Pea Ridge Elementary School cafeteria. There will be a free dinner and a short introduction to square dancing.

The public is invited and there is no age limit.

Donations needed for annual Turkey Shoot

Jeep event

SELIGMAN, Mo. - Just Jeep’n is a Jeep Event, including mud runs, obstacle course, door prizes, poker runs, food and music, will be held July 31-Aug. 1.

There will be a Jeep corral to sell or buy and plaques will be given away. Prizes include KC lights, 3,000 pound wenches, high-lift jacks plus many more. $20entrance fee for Jeeps, spectators are free.

There is a $20 per Jeep entry fee with Poker runs daytime and twilight for $10 each run. Prizes will be given away for Best of show, vintage, trail ready, people’s choice, largest club attendance, farthest distance to attend. The event is sponsored by Seligman Chamber of Commerce. Truck-Tractor pull set

SELIGMAN, Mo. - A Truck and Tractor pull is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, July 24.

It is a S.M.T.T.P.A sanctioned pull at the Ruby’s event park on Missouri Highway 37 South. Admission is $10 for adults, 12 and under free.
