THE TIMES LETTER TO THE EDITOR

— Put a name to complaint

An open letter to the individual sending unsigned and undated letters to city officials.

I feel obliged to respond to these in an open fashion with hopes that my letter may inspire you to either muster up the courage to address your grievances with the individual or individuals that you are trying so hardto incriminate, or vocalize your convictions to the City Council in person. Sending anonymous, undated and unsigned clandestine letters to city officials is neither productive nor effective in addressing your issue against these individuals you are accusing of wrong doing.

Speaking only for myself, I cannot place any merit in unsigned, accusing letters with undated photos.

Rumor mills can be started in any fashion, and that is what the intention of these letters appears to be. If these are to be taken seriously, please notify any of your City Council members, mayor or whomever you feel comfortable talking to and voice your concerns face to face. Anything else just has the appearance of a personalgrudge that needs to be addressed at the source by you, and is not city business at all.

My hope is that you receive this letter in the sincere context in which it was written.

Respectfully, BOB COTTINGHAM, City Council member Pea Ridge, Ark.
