— Granny’s Quilts of Love

Granny’s Quilts of Love met at 9:30 a.m. June 15 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge.

The grannies have made 10,500 quilts that have been donated to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Final preparations were made for the upcoming annual dinner and auction. We will be selling raffle tickets for a stainless steel barbecue grill in red with the Arkansas Razorback logo and seven days at a suite at Fall Creek in Branson with show tickets for two, good for Nov. 5 through 12.

Tickets will be $1 each or six for $5, and will be available at Arvest Bank in Pea Ridge starting in August.

The dinner will be lasagna with salad, corn, roll, homemade desserts and drink. The cost will be $6 for adults, $2 for children.

The dinner and auctionwill be held from 5 to 7 p.m. August 28, at the Pea Ridge High School cafeteria, with the auction going from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Some of the big items for the auction include a Sony hi-fi system for iPod total 530W RMA, Sony Play Station 3, Nintendo Wii Play Sports game plus extra Wii Play nine games with extra remote, Xovision three-inch in-dash wide screen touch panel DVD receiver with Bluetooth, Samsung Blue-Ray disc player, Kodak Easy Share C-190 camera, small freezer, 6,000 watt generator, several Branson show tickets plus many more valuable items.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. July 20 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church.
