Miss Pea Ridge contestants vie for crown

— Three Pea Ridge teens will compete for the title of Miss Pea Ridge beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday for the 60th anniversary of the Pea Ridge Community Fair. The Tiny Tot contest will be held when the young ladies change their attire during the middle of the competition.

Tabitha Courtney Frasier, the daughter of Jay Frasier and Trina Rothfus of Garfield, is 5’4” with brown hair and green eyes. She is the president of Pea Ridge High School’s FCCLA, a member of the Pea Ridge Pep Squad and the Garfield Church of Christ youth group.

Her hobbies include sewing and designing clothes, listening to and learning about new music, spending time with her family and reading. In the future, she plans to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to major in Early Education, then to return to a local school and teach kindergarten. She eventually hopes to open a preschool. She issponsored by Trail’s End Resort and Wood Cabinet Company.

Taylor Lee Long, the daughter of Jamie and David Long of Pea Ridge, is 5’11” with brown hair and browneyes. She is a member of Point Youth Group and Future Christian Athletes. Her hobbies include texting, working, shopping, riding fourwheelers, working with her grandpaon his farm, swimming and tanning.

In the future, she plans to go to college after high school to become her dream, a veterinary technician. She is sponsored by Oak View AnimalClinic and Green Light Electric.

Alisha DeLynn Simpson, the daughter of Lisa Harper and Joey Simpson of Pea Ridge, is 5’8” with blond hair and blue eyes. She participates in National Honor Society, National Youth Leadership Conference, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and has been president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4142 junior girls for three years. Her hobbies include playing sports, drag racing, hunting, fishing and hanging out with her friends. In the future, she plans to attend college and be a flight medic in the United States Air Force. Simpson is sponsored by Connor Excavating out of Neosho, Mo., and Harper/ Simpson Racing of Pea Ridge.

Contestants for Miss Pea Ridge must be going into their senior year beginning fall, 2010. Judging will be by judges not from the Pea Ridge area and on a point system based on beauty, personality, poise and citizenship.
