— Towanda Jeanette Barnett

Towanda Jeanette Norvell Barnett, 87, of Garfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 13.

She was born Oct.

23, 1922, in Lubbock, Texas, to the late Reuben Norvell and Lillian Moore Norvell.

She married Pershing Barnett on Jan. 17, 1942.

Towanda, referred to by many as Sis Barnett, was a retired minister of the Pentecostal Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Pershing Barnett;

her parents; and one sister, Omega Belle Norvell.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Barnett and wife, Darlene, of Bella Vista, and Jerry Barnett and wife, Rosie, of Normanna, Texas; one daughter, Cherlene Artman and husband, Rick, of Springfield, Mo.;

three brothers, Philip Norvell of San Antonio, Texas, Kelly Norvell of Aransas Pass, Texas, and James Norvell of Garfield; one sister, Carrie Nell Henry of Seadrift, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Friday, Jan. 15, at Rollins Funeral Home.

Funeral services wereheld at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.

Interment followed at Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.

Arlo Evans

SPRINGDALE - Arlo Evans, 37, of Springdale died Dec. 28, 2009, inSpringdale.

Survivors include his parents, Jim and Dodie Hunter of Springdale;

his sister, MichelleHunter of Fayetteville; surrogate parents, aunt Terry Niccum of Bentonville, aunt Jalee Smothers of Gulf Port, Miss., and uncle and aunt, Herb and Lori Evans of Fayetteville; his grandmother, Linda Tunnell of Rogers; aunt, Beth Canfield of Rogers; aunt and uncle, Ron and Nikki Corsey of Lowell; aunt Robin Weatherbee of Garfield; uncle Bill Hunter of Santa Maria, Calif.; and many cousins and friends.

A celebration of Arlo’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Luretha Dora Herron

SULPHUR SPRINGS - Luretha Dora Herron, 84, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., died Jan. 15, in Sulphur Springs. She was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Oklahoma to Amos and Ora Lindsay Stout.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Loyd Herron and wife, Jo, of Bentonville, Ark., and William Herron of Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Nancy Townsend and husband, Dennis, of Pea Ridge; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Monday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barron Cemetery in Vaughn.

Ella Paulina Pitts Horner

Ella Paulina Pitts Horner, 80, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Friday, Jan. 15, in her home. She was born April 4, 1929, in Monett, Mo., to Merter and Nettie (Ashby) Pitts.

She received her education at Monett, graduating from Monett High School.

She attended Monett Junior College and graduated from Jewish Hospital in St.

Louis, Mo., as a registered nurse. She worked through the years of her marriage as a registered nurse in Columbia, Mo., and in 1969 moved to Fayetteville, Ark .,where she was a volunteer public health nurse. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

On March 2, 1952, she was united in marriage to Glennon Horner, M.D., who survives.

Survivors include her husband, Glennon Horner;

four daughters, Norma Horner and her friend, Debbie Byers, of Tontitown, Ark., Barbara Huddleston and her husband, Bob, of Jesseville, Ark., Peg Rowen and her husband, Stuart, of Kansas City, Mo., and Patty Haak of Springfield, Ark.; one brother, Bill Pitts of Arlington, Texas;

five grandchildren, Erin, Rachael and Dan Huddleston and Roger and Joe Haak; and seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo., with brother Bob Neeley officiating.

Burial will be in Horner Cemetery, Cassville.

Loretta Penrod Kelley

Loretta Penrod Kelley, 71, of Pea Ridge, died Jan.

15, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

She was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Weleetka, Okla., to LeRoy and Lessie Violet Cunningham Penrod.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and attending church.

Survivors include her husband, Patrick; two daughters, Laura Kelley of Bentonville and Jennifer Jones and husband, Jeffrey, of Pea Ridge; a brother; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 23 at Cornerstone Assembly of God in Rogers.

Burial will be at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by Epting Funeral Home of Bella Vista. Shaw Mason

Shaw Mason, 33, of Garfield, died Jan. 11, in Bentonville. He was born Sept. 17, 1976, in Roanoke, Va., to Susan Shaw and W.F. Mason Jr.

He was a cameraman.

Survivors include his father of Roanoke, Va.; his mother of Garfield; and one sister.

Memorial services will be held in Roanoke, Va., at a later date.

Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Alexis Leann Munns

Alexis Leann Munns arrived and departed this world on Jan. 10, leaving behind her parents, Katie Lee Jones and Codey Don Munns of Garfield, Ark.

Survivors include paternal grandparents, Jesus and Shelley Rodriguez of Garfield; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Elsie Jones of Rogers, Ark.; paternal great-grandparents, Dorothy Ann Munns of Garfield; maternal great-grandparents, Jerry and Patsy Jones of Indianola, Miss.; and Glenn and Susie Bailey of Indianola; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Denver L. Townsend

Denver L. Townsend, 69, of Pea Ridge, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, in Bentonville. He was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Pea Ridge to Mack and Leona Birge Townsend.

He was a sawmill operator.

Survivors include three brothers, Jerry Townsend of Pea Ridge, Alfred Townsend and wife, Wanda, of Bentonville and Larry Townsend and wife, Sherri, of Bentonville.

No services are planned.
