Rebuilding Lady ‘Hawks see progress

— Returning just three players who saw significant playing time and only one starter, the Pea Ridge Lady Blackhawks are in a bit of a rebuilding phase.

“We’re getting better,” Pea Ridge coach Heather Wade said. “It just takes time.”

The Lady Blackhawks (3-8, 0-2 4A-1) are led by senior Lexy Paryzec, who is averaging double figures in scoring. Paryzec started some last season and was the first player off the benchat other times, Wade said.

“She can shoot it well when she does,” Wade said. “She looks to penetrate and make things happen.”

Senior Erin Duvall has also scored in double figures for Pea Ridge in the past couple of games, while senior Kayla Bangs is the lone returning starter. Lack of numbers is also a problem, Wade said. “We only have nine players; if we get in foul trouble I just have to juggle them all,” Wade said. Pea Ridge is scheduled to play at Berryville in a 4A-1 Conference game on Friday.
