Blackhawk Colors Day ceremonies Friday night

— Seven Pea Ridge High School senior girls were selected by their peers to serve on the Colors Day Court. They are Kayla Bangs, Mary Beard, Erin Duvall, Chelsey Haguewood, Lexy Paryzek, Jenny Small and Kayla Talburt.

Kayla Ann Bangs, 17, is the daughter of Joe and Tina Bangs of Pea Ridge and has lived in Pea Ridge her whole life. Her plans after high school include attending college at Missouri Southern State University or Southwest Baptist and study something in the medical field. At school, she plays basketball, softball and volleyball, and is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honors Society and is a senior mentor. Outside of school, she likes to hang out with her boyfriend, friends and family. The thing she will miss most about high school after graduation is her friends.

Bangs will be escorted by Kory Gann,but if she could choose anyone in the world as an escort, it would be Taylor Lautner from “Twilight.”

Mary Beard, 17, is the daughter of Annette Beard of Pea Ridge and James Beard of Piedmont, Mo. A native of Pea Ridge, she lived in southeast Missouri for seven years before returning to Pea Ridge. After high school, she plans to attend college and major in either education or photography. She is involved in National Honors Society, Jobs for Arkansas Graduates and is the treasurer of the 2010 senior class.

Outside of school, she helps with Awanas at First Baptist Church in Garfield and enjoys running, hanging out with friends and family and photography. The thing she will miss most after graduation is her friends.

Beard will be escorted by Tyler Ramsey, but if she could choose anyone in the world as an escort, it would be Ryan Gosling.

Erin Elizabeth Duvall, 18, is the daughter of Douglas and Dorcas Duvall of Pea Ridge. She has lived in Pea Ridge for nine years. After high school, she plans on going to college to become an accountant.

She plays volleyball, basketball and runs track, and is also involved in FCA, NationalHonors Society and is a senior mentor. She loves going to her church, shopping and doing any type of sports. She will miss her teammates most after graduation.

Duvall will be escorted by Kyle Westerdale, but if she could choose anyone in the world as an escort, it would be Chris Paul.

Chelsey Lynn Haguewood, 18, is the daughter of Collette May and has lived in Pea Ridge for 13 years. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville after graduation. She is involved in cheerleading at school. Outside of school, she loves to run and hang out with her friends.

The thing she will miss most about high school after graduation is cheerleading.

Haguewood will be escorted by Jared Roberts.

Lexy Paryzek, 17, is the daughter of Garyand Krisi Paryzek and has lived in Pea Ridge her whole life. After high school, she hopes to attend the College of the Ozarks and major in psychology. At school, she plays basketball, softball and volleyball.

She is also involved in National Honors Society and is a senior mentor. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her sister, Scharla, being around her close friends and reading. She will miss her teammates most after graduation.

Paryzek will be escorted by Ethan Rhine, but if she could choose anyone in theworld as an escort, it would be Lil Wayne.

Jenny Small, 17, is the daughter of Tim and Valerie Small and has lived in Pea Ridge for all 17 years. After college, she plans to attend Southern Baptist University. She plays softball and runs track, and is also involved in National Honors Society. Outside of school, she spends her time helping with Awanas at First Baptist Church in Garfield, hanging out with her friends, running and reading. She will miss her friends most after graduation.

Small will be escorted by Dustin Phy,but if she could choose anyone in the world as an escort, it would be Johnny Depp.

Kayla Talburt, 18, is the daughter of Perry and Rhonda Baker. She has lived in Pea Ridge for her entire life. She plans to attend Williams Baptist College after high school and study psychology. She plays softball and is involved in National Honors Society. She enjoys helping with Awanas at First Baptist Church in Garfield in her free time, as well as hanging out with friends, swimming and cooking. She will miss her friends most after graduation.

Talburt will be escorted by Rudy Torres, but if she could choose anyone in the world as an escort, it would be Channing Tatum.

Colors Day events are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Blackhawk Gym at Pea Ridge High School with the Junior Varsity boys playing against Shiloh. The Colors Day ceremonies will follow. Immediately after the ceremony, the senior boys will play, followed by the senior girls.
