— Granny’s Quilts of Love

Granny’s Quilt’s of Love met at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 15 at Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Bella Vista.

The Christmas appreciation brunch hosted by The Friendly Stitchers/Granny’s was wonderful. There were 29 ladies present. The food was delicious and everyone had fun with the gift exchange game.

A big thank you to all the Bella Vista Granny’s for all the hard work and time they put into making the brunch a lot of fun.

Shirley Mierendorf made a donation to Granny’s Quilts from the money she earned while working as a seamstress at Concordia. Thank you, Shirley.

Elda Wenzel read a poem written by a 14-year-old boy who died of brain cancer.

Marge Crowder made remarks.

As of December, 9,256 quilts have been made, along with 1,478 caps and 1,702 pillows.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. This will be a cutting meeting, be sure to bring scissors.
