β€” Door-to-door salesmen knocking on doors of residences in the city Friday and Saturday night prompted more than a half dozen calls from residents to Pea Ridge police.

According to records from Benton County Central Communications, there were at least six calls from 6:31 p.m. to 8:42 p.m.

Friday and from 4:22 p.m. to 5:34 p.m. Saturday from residents concerned about suspicious persons knocking on doors. Some persons reported the men were trying to sell magazines, other callers said they were soliciting donations.

No further incidents were reported in conjunction with the investigation.

β€œAt any time, if a resident feels uneasy about a person at their door whom they have not solicited, they should call the police,” Police Chief Tim Ledbetter said, adding that residents should ask to see a business permit from persons doing business in the city. The Pea Ridge Police Department can be reached by calling 451-8220.
