— What is your job title? Seventh-grade teacher, assistant football coach and assistant basketball coach.

Where are you from? El Paso, Ark.

Where did you go to college? University of Central Arkansas.

What is your degree in? I have a B.S.E. in social studies, 7-12, and a coaching endorsement.

What was your first job out of college? I was an assistant football coach for Johnson County West, just outside of Clarksville.

How long have you been coaching in Pea Ridge? I was here for four years, then gone for two years and this is my first year back up here. My wife and I wanted to raise our family here.

How has Pea Ridge changed since you have been here? The school is bigger, the housing explosion kind of slowed down but it’s still growing.

Did you play sports in high school or college?

I played in high school — football and basketball.

What are your hobbies outside of work? I like to play golf.

Do you have any before-the-game rituals? We pull our seniors aside and talk to them, just to tell them what we expect.

What do you think about being in the regional tournament? We’re going to have a lot of fun, I expect to go down there and play well.

What is one of the most memorable coaching moments here in Pea Ridge? The thing that sticks out most was a few years ago I was helping coach King with baseball and we beat Shiloh Christian for the district championship.

What is the most important thing to teach the kids while coaching? Discipline.
