PEA RIDGE — Healthy Kids Essay Contest

Pea Ridge Middle School students have been invited to participate in the sixth annual Nutrition and Physical Activity Essay Contest sponsored by Arkansas Action for Healthy Kids and Arkansas Dietetic Association. The theme this year is “It’s how you eat and move your feet.” The benefits our students receive in participating include the promotion of writing and critical thinking skills, and increased awareness of health and nutrition issues.

The contest winners canreceive a cash prize ranging from $50-$150.

Picture Day is Friday, Feb. 12.

The choir is scheduled to perform at Region Choral Performance Assessment on the evening of March 4 in Bentonville.

The PTO is selling candy grams and teddy bear grams next week during lunch and before school.

The candy grams cost $1 and the teddy bears cost $2.

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 and 25.

Spaghetti dinner

The Pea Ridge High School AP Biology class will hold a Valentine’s Day spaghetti dinner, with proceeds going to the “Trip of a Lifetime,” set for May 2010 to South Dakota.

The dinner will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb.

13, at the high school cafeteria. Admission is $5 per person.
