PEA RIDGE — Tyler Ramsey and Ethan Rhine, Pea Ridge High School seniors, were named to the KURM Radio 2010 football Dream Team and honored Wednesday night at a banquet.
Players are nominated by their coaches, then selected by the staff at KURM Radio.
“We look for things like team record and individual statistics,” Ross Mullican of KURM said.
Mullican said players from larger teams are more often measured by team records, but players from small teams like Pea Ridge are chosen mostly on individual statistics.
The station receives the nominations at the end of the high school football regular season.
“We had several teams in this area that did very well this year,” Mullican said. “There are 26 teams that come together throughout the area.
Unfortunately we can’t go and watch every football game.”
Each player named to theDream Team received a certificate that states the year of the team they were named to and were recognized at the banquet.
“We have a lot of sponsorsthat help us out with this. Tyson helps us with the meal, Showcase Trophy in Rogers helps us, Digital Printing Solutionshelps with the certificates,” Mullican said.
The basketball nominations are due at the end of the 2009-2010 regular season, with the awards banquet held in late April.
