Seligman Chamber of Commerce stays busy

— Seligman Chamber of Commerce had two successful events in December.

The Christmas train ride on the Arkansas and Missouri train was held Sunday, Dec. 12, and went to Rogers, Ark., and back to Seligman. The Ark.

& Mo. bought about 65 employees to Seligman to enjoy a Christmas party provided by the Seligman Chamber , and music was provided by Charlie and Mary Lou Williams, Sherman Gabbard, James Townsend, Tommy and Diane Evans, Greg and Carl Wayne Hendrix, and Sandra Hayes.

While they were enjoying the party, about 240 passengers rode the train to Rogers and back. They were treated to caroling that was provided by BelvaGriffis and Sharon Robbins; Santa Claus gave the children a bag of treats.

The train was decorated for Christmas.

The second event - A Christmas to Remember - was Sunday, Dec. 19. It was sponsored jointly by the Chamber and the Norman Bryant Foundation.

About 245 people enjoyed a free dinner and more than 70 children receivedgifts from Santa Claus. Everyone enjoyed a Christmas play provided by the foundation.

The Seligman Chamber has a calendar full of events for the coming 2011, including truck and tractor pulls, mini hot rod pulls, a car show and swap meet, Jeep show and mud runs. Watch for dates and advertisements for the events.
