PEA RIDGE POLICE

Incidents reported to the Pea Ridge Police Department this week include:

Two warrants served:

◊12/21 David McElroy, 37, Springdale, contempt failure to pay fines and costs; and

◊12/23 Travis Schmalz, 23, Bentonville, contempt failure to pay fines and costs.

Other incidents include: Tuesday, Dec. 21

7 p.m. A resident on Sims Lane reported criminal mischief/theft.

Wednesday, Dec. 22

6:08 a.m. An alarm call at Pea Ridge Intermediate School. An open door was located, but no representative from the school was available.

9:58 a.m. A resident on Smith Street reported an aggressive dog at large. The dog and owner were located. A citation was issued to the dog’s owner, Robert Peck, 23, Pea Ridge, for dog at large.

6:37 p.m. A resident of D.J. Duvall reported a theft saying that packages were delivered by FedEx and were missing. Items missing included a strand of Christmas lights, an office chair, a remote control car and a dog outfit.

7:50 p.m. A resident from Rains Street reported her 6-year-old granddaughter had been bitten by her dog.

The dog’s shot records were up to date.

The child was treated at the hospital.

4:52 p.m. Responded to an alarm at Pea Ridge High School gym. After making contact with a school official, it was determined the alarm was set off accidentally.

Thursday, Dec. 23

9:08 a.m. Responded to an alarm at Pea Ridge Middle School. An audible alarm could be heard from outside of the building. All outside doors were checked and found to be secure.

10:33 a.m. A complainant reportedpossibly dead horses in the area of Hayden Road and West Pickens Street and expressed concern because of the cold temperatures. Upon investigating, it was discovered the horses were sunning.

Saturday, Dec. 25

4:30 p.m. Police were contacted by a citizen who reported finding a brown and white Bassett Hound running loose in Battlefield View subdivision. The dog was impounded.

Sunday, Dec. 26

6:50 p.m. Responded to an alarm at Pea Ridge High School.The building was checked and found to be secure.

Monday, Dec. 27

8:41 a.m. Responded to an alarm at Pea Ridge High School.The building was found to be secure.

10:10 a.m. Were advised of a wreckless driver on It’ll Do Road and Arkansas Highway 94. After making contact withthe vehicle, the driver was issued a written warning.

12:36 p.m. After a traffic stop on Lee Town Road, took three people into custody and impounded the vehicle. Victor Valdez, 21, was arrested on a warrant from Springdale and taken to the Benton County Jail. A 16-year-old Hispanic male was cited for no driver’s license, failure to stop at a stop sign and no proof insurance. After it was discovered he had given a false identity, he was arrested for obstructing government operations and a delinquency warrant and booked into the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center. A 17-year-old Hispanic female was discovered to be a runaway from Rogers and turned over to Rogers police.

2:20 p.m. Were advised of a longhaired collie-type dog running loose in the area of King Lane Apartments. The dog was impounded.
