— The Pea Ridge Lady ’Hawks took on the Heritage Lady War Eagles Dec.

17. With what was sure to be a tough game, Heritage quickly took the lead.

Going quickly between offence and defense, the Lady ’Hawks seemed to play more defense during the first quarter than anything else. The quarter ended with the Lady War Eagles leading the way 13 to 7. Even though Pea Ridge was down, the Lady ’Hawks still had time to make a comeback. However, the Lady War Eagles found a successful play that would set number 25, Murray, up for a wide open 3. Taking advantage of this shot, number 25 had 14 points, most of which came from her 3s.

This play set the Lady ’Hawks at a disadvantage letting Heritage score 16 points in the second quarter while Pea Ridge put up 7. This put the score Heritage 26, Pea Ridge 14.

Coming out of half time, the Lady ’Hawks stepped uptheir intensity, but so did the Lady War Eagles. With less than adequate defense and shots that wouldn’t fall, the third quarter shaped up to a 21-point lead for the Lady War Eagles. Not able to hold Heritage, they put 17 more points on the board fourth quarter while Pea Ridge only managed 6, which ended the game with the score 59 to 27.

Leading the Lady ’Hawks was junior Jordan Winn with 10 points followed by Morgan with 8.

It seemed that a lot of what handicapped the Lady ’Hawks was poor decision making. Making bad passes and advancing the ball at the wrong time added the number of turnovers the Lady ’Hawks possessed.

When asked about this observation, ’Hawk coach Heather Wade said, “A lot of what we do to ourselves is bad decision making. We need to continue to work hard to correct this and our game will only get better.”

Lady Blackhawks scoring were Winn 10, Morgan 8, Beard 4, Harris 3, Hargiss 1 and Wright 1.
