PEA RIDGE — Brandon Jones was honored as firefighter of the year at the recent Pea Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Christmas dinner. He was also named top responder.

Jones, 26, is a third generation fireman and has been a member of the Pea Ridge department 6 1/2 years. He had responded to about 80 percent of the calls.

“I couldn’t have done it without the guys’ help.

I’ve had a lot of help over the years,” he said, adding that he was surprised at both awards.

Also honored were John Cottingham for 10 years of service and John Nichols for 20 years.
