Morgan volunteers during wounded warrior hunt

Sophomore sets role model for fellow youth

— A Pea Ridge student - Garrett Morgan - volunteered his time to help others recently as he assisted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Dec. 4 and 5 for the wounded warrior hunt on Beaver Lake at Dam Site Park for soldiers injured while serving our country.

Chief Park Ranger Jared Trammell said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake Project Office thanks Morgan, 15, a sophomore at Pea Ridge High School,for volunteering his time with the wounded warrior hunt. Morgan volunteered for the hunt and assisted with game retrieval and cleaning, hunter assistance, setup of hunting blinds and other preparation for the hunt. Trammell said Morgan did and outstanding job and is a role model for many youth to follow.

The hunters were Danny Stilwell of Dyer, Jerald “Bo” Wilson, Alma, and Chris Middleton, Alma. There were four deer harvested during the hunt.

Others assisting were Corps of Engineers staff, park ranger Dylan Edwards, park ranger Ryan King, senior powerhouse electrician Jay Morgan, operations and maintenance Chris Jones, park ranger Jeremy Clemence, senior powerhouse electrician Joe Long.
