Immunizations required

Each seventh-grade student needs to have had a T-dap shot within the past two years. If a student has had the injection, an updated copy of the immunization record needs to be sent to the nurse’s office.

There is a deadline of 30 days to obtain all current immunization records with the T-dap recorded.

Gibson, Shelton accepted to school for gifted

Pea Ridge students Trilby Hannah Gibson, daughter of John and Stacey Gibson, and Karen Shelton, granddaughter of Ronald and Elizabeth Shelton, are two of six Benton County students accepted to attend the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences andthe Arts as members of the class of 2012.

The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts is one of 14 public residential high schools in the country specializing in the education of academically gifted juniors and seniors. The graduating class of 2010 earned $10.5 million in scholarships. The school, located in historic downtown Hot Springs, is a campus of the University of Arkansas system.

Cheerleaders selling T-shirts

The senior high cheerleaders are selling STP (Something to Prove) Tshirts to kick off the 2010 football season. The shirts are $10 each and available from any senior high cheerleader.
