PIEDMONT, Mo.
- Clearwater Lake, located near Piedmont, Mo., was the recent recipient of the U.S. Corps of Engineers Chief of Engineers 2010 Natural Resources Management Project of the Year Award.
James Beard, a native of Pea Ridge and former lake manager at Beaver Lake, is now operations project manager at Clearwater.
He has held the position since March 1998 and is responsible for operation and maintenance related to flood control, recreation and natural resource management, according to a news release.
The Clearwater Lake Project includes a 10,350-acre lake at the top of flood pool and 18,000 acres of adjacent project lands.
