Roe returns from European trip

— Wanda Roe and her daughter Ramona, of Little Rock, recently returned after spending several weeks visiting countries in Europe.

In London, they took a cruise on the River Thames, visited the Crown Jewels and toured Windsor Castle.

The flag indicated royalty was in residence. The guide said it was Prince Philip, who enjoys coming to work in the greenhouses. They boarded a cruise ship and visited Gibraltar, Corsica, the French Riviera, Spain and Portugal.

They said they enjoyed the ship’s entertainment and ice shows, where skating lessons were taught each morning.

The group visited a history museum, an art museum and a glass museum featuring Dale Chiculy’s work. They went to a “hot shop” to see glass objects created and walked across the Bridge of Glass with side panels and a ceiling decorated with glassobjects and designs.

Most of the group went by bus to Spokane, Wash., for the International Delta Kappa Gamma Convention.

Several thousand members convened in business sessions including luncheons, reunion events, a banquet and tours to interesting places in the city.

The 12 Arkansas delegates returned to attend the annual workshop held in Little Rock July 30-31.
