◊Visit with the financial aid office at the college or university your child is hoping to attend. Do this early!

To compete with students all over the nation for large money awards, check out www.fastweb.com, www.collegeboard.com or www.collegenet.com.

For Arkansas students planning to attend and instate college or university, check out the Arkansas Academic Challenge Lottery Funded Scholarship at the Arkansas Department of Higher Education’s Web site, www.ADHE.edu. Look for the YOUniverse link.

Other scholarships are also available through the same Web site.

For applications for aid at individual schools, request scholarship and financial aid information from the schools’ financial aid office.

Nov. 1-15 are common deadlines for major academic scholarships at some universities.

For scholarships for area high school seniors, check with the scholarship office at Pea Ridge High School.

For Pea Ridge graduating students, local aid is available. Apply by submitting a local application at the scholarship office, the deadline is to be determined for fall 2010. Students must notify the scholarship office of each individual scholarship for which they qualify and want to apply.
