First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge

There will be a backpack giveaway from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 7, for children in the Pea Ridge School District. There will also be a clothing giveaway, free haircuts and free breakfast. All giveaways are first come, first served.

The church is looking for food pantry volunteers.

Mothers’ Day Out will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning in August and running through the 2010-2011 school year. Children ages 6 weeks to 5 years are welcome. Cost is $60 per week for 6 weeks to 23 months and $40 per week for 2- to 5-year-olds. Sign up by calling the church office at 451-8192 or e-mail [email protected].

First Baptist Church, Garfield

A blood drive will be at the church from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 11.

Men’s breakfast will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14.

A youth trip to Silver Dollar City will be Monday, Aug. 16. Meet at the church at 9 .m.

Lunch to support the constitution of His Way Fellowship as a church will be at noon Sunday, Aug.

22. Bring sandwiches and chips to share. The constitution service will be at 2 p.m. and Jericho Down will provide music throughout the day.

Missy’s Mission Cafe is open at 8:30 a.m. the first Sunday of each month for breakfast. Donations and all proceeds go to help the support for short-term mission trips to various locations.

New Life Church, Pea Ridge

Loaves n’ Fishes food pantry is open from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17. For information, contact Greg Cecil at 426-7696 or Pam Cecil at 426-7678.

“Life” Bible Study, a community Bible study is 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the fellowship hall at New Life Church, 836 N. Curtis Ave. Finger food is provided.

Messiah Lutheran, Pea Ridge

Messiah Lutheran Church Family Ministries is held from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Wednesdays. Sunday services each week begin with Sunday school, both children and adults at 9:30 a.m.

Worship service is 10:30 a.m. Refreshments are served at 10 a.m. and after church. The church currently meets at the After School Day Care on Slack Street.

Bella Vista Christian

The singles ministry (ages 40 to 60) will go kayaking on Lake Loch Lomond from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12. Reservations by be made on the church Web site at www.bellavsitachristian.com.

Little Sprouts Learning Center, a new Christian based preschool for 3- to 5-year-old children will open Aug. 23 on the church campus.
