— “If you want to have fun, you’ve got to fight fair” sang the elementary-aged students at their spring musical “Arf” Thursday. The children, bedecked as dalmations and German shepherds, sang and spoke their various parts directed by April Smith, music teacher, to a crowded audience.

“All dogs are different, but they’re all still okay,” sang the children. “After all, it’s true: Every dog has his day!”

Many people were involved behind the scenes, Smith said, thanking CameronMcNabb, bus director; the maintenance and custodial staff; the schools’ secretaries, the principals and superintendent as well as the teachers and teachers’ aides.

“A special thank-you to our costume fairies - Courtney Powell, Amanda Coco, Rebecca Allen and Vickie Roberts - who helped make all the costumes,” Smith said.

Smith commended the auxilliary teachers who are, she said, the reason she had not turned completely gray as a 28-yearold.

“And, finally, to all these wonderful kids,” Smith smiled. “They are the reason we are here tonight and they make my job so much fun.”
