Doctor speaks to Optimists

PEA RIDGE — Dr. Rhonda Higgins will be the featured speaker at an evening Pea Ridge Optimist Club meeting for the community at 6 p.m.

Thursday, April 29, at the Pea Ridge Middle School cafeteria.

Also featured will be Tyler Mooney, the winner of the Optimists’ oratorical contest, who will present his speech. Mooney will go to the District contest in Hot Springs May 8.

“The Optimist Club seeks to benefit children in the area,” Merrill White, president of the club,said. “Our regular meetings are in the morning on the first and third Thursdays of the month.

The community is invited, but we meet early in the morning and it’s difficult for some to attend.

We are meeting in the evening to encourage greater participation from the community.”

This event is open to the public. The Optimist Club hopes to sponsor more upcoming evening events like this in the future.
