Four ’Hawk hoopsters on Dream Team

— Pea Ridge High School senior basketball players Lexi Paryzek, Kip Kelly, Tyler Ramsey and Ethan Rhine have been named to this year’s KURM basketball Dream Team.

Players are nominated by their coaches, then chosen by the staff at KURM radio. They are selected based on their team record, as well as overall individual statistics.

“The kids from Pea Ridge did an excellent job this year, we are confident in naming them to dream team,” Ross Mullican, Dream Team coordinator, said.

“(Lexi) stepped up this year, she helped us in scoring and played well. She was an all-conference player based on her individual statistics,” Heather Wade, Pea Ridge senior girls basketball coach, said.

“I am very proud of the three seniors that will be recognized at the KURM Dream Team banquet,” said Charley Clark, boys’ coach for Pea Ridge High School. “Kip and Tyler have each started all three years in high school, while Ethan has started the past two seasons at point guard.

“These guys have enjoyed lots of success in those three years, including a total recordof 56-27 and never losing to Shiloh Christian. They have also helped me by being good team leaders, good students and good examples for our younger players.”

The seniors will be honored at a banquet, along with 130 other athletes from the threestate area. The banquet will be held April 28 at Elmwood Middle School in Rogers.

Individual awards will be announced at the banquet, including player of the year, the Tyson Achievement Award based on academics and coach of the year.

Ramsey and Rhine were also named in January to the 2010 KURM football Dream Team.
